Abstract: This study investigates the profound impact of early childhood education (ECE) programs tailored for at-risk children in Nigeria. The objective is to explore how such programs contribute to academic readiness, socio-emotional development, and long-term success among vulnerable populations. A survey research design is employed, justified by its ability to gather comprehensive data across various ECE facilities. A sample size of 300 children from at-risk backgrounds is selected using purposive sampling, ensuring representation from diverse socioeconomic statuses. Lagos State is chosen as the location due to its diverse demographic composition. Findings indicate that early intervention through targeted ECE programs significantly improves cognitive skills, enhances social integration, and reduces academic disparities among at-risk children. Recommendations based on these findings emphasize the need for expanded funding and support for inclusive ECE initiatives, emphasizing tailored curriculum and teacher training.
